How to count calories in tasting portions, as in a cooking class or demonstration?

I have been working meticulously in counting calories, to help me get a real handle on portion sizes and what kind of nutrition they can get the amount of calories should eat each day. (Open your eyes!) I love to cook, so sometimes attend classes or demonstrations where they give you a small piece to taste (about 1 biscuit 1 cookie, a piece of cake). Any ideas on the most accurate and easy to count these calories?

This is an excellent question. Many people underestimate the number of calories they consume each day because they eat small portions of snacks throughout the day and forget about them in the calculation of total calories they consume. The more accurately you can measure the calories in these small snacks is to weigh everything you eat. You can carry around a small scale and a notebook and a pencil and write down what you eat and the weight of each part. Then you can go to a calorie counting site – I have given three below – later and do the math. If the accountant says a serving size of something that is three ounces and eat half an ounce of it, only caories dividing the total by six to bite. You get the idea. Obviously this is a bit cumbersome, and you may feel uncomfortable every weight that way. If so, all you can do is make a rough estimate. Take a small notebook and draw a vertical line passing through it. First, write what you eat and in the other, an estimate of how much it weighs. The first method is more accurate but more embarrassing, but if you do not mind a bit of laughter from the gallery, you are okay with it. Otherwise, an estimate should be harder enough. All my best for you. Counting calories is good, but not too obsessive about it.
